چکیده
Anecdotally and in research, there are numerous such accounts from abused women saying that direct inquiry from a caring health care professional helped them disclose their abuse and fi nd the appropriate intervention services. Researchers1 have long maintained that simply asking about abuse is an important nursing intervention in addressing domestic violence. Compassionate inquiry by a nurse shows an abuse survivor that nurses care and are knowledgeable about domestic violence; it also validates domestic violence as a central and legitimate health care issue.
